Eligibility

Your project must involve space-related innovation (upstream or downstream), have a clear and viable business plan, be an early-stage company (or one you can incorporate during the process), commit to being located in the Region of Murcia, and be ready to fully engage with the programme.
Not necessarily. If your company is already established, it must be less than five years old at the time of applying. If it isn’t established yet, you can incorporate it during the application process — we’ll guide you.
Two paths qualify: upstream (technologies or systems developed for use in space) and downstream (applying or exploiting space data and technology in other sectors such as agriculture, environment, mobility, health or connectivity).
Your company must be, or commit to being, located in the Region of Murcia for the incubation period. This connects you to the regional ecosystem and the wider space sector.

Applying

A space-related project, an eligible early-stage company, and the completed application package (cover letter, business plan, incubation proposal and related appendices).
It doesn’t — the call for proposals is always open. You can apply whenever your idea and application are ready.
All forms and supporting documents are in the application package, available on the Apply page. Download it, complete the templates and submit your proposal.
Yes — we strongly recommend it. Talking to our team before you start any paperwork helps you understand the programme, check your fit and build a much stronger application. There’s no obligation.

After applying

Your application is reviewed by ESA and the Region of Murcia committee on technical merit, business viability and space relevance. Shortlisted applicants present their project, and selected startups receive their ESA BIC incubation certificate.
Yes. The programme offers non-equity incubation funding, and after receiving your incubation certificate you may also apply for regional co-funding through the corresponding institutions of the Region of Murcia.
You sign the incubation contract with ESA BIC Region of Murcia, agreeing the terms of your participation. From there the programme officially begins and you start growing your venture with our full support.
